A Little Bit of Background…

The Cofilmic Comedy Film Festival is the brainchild of Manchester businesswoman Janet Harrison; she produced her first short comedy film in 2010, and whilst working on new comedy features of her own, was eager to give others the chance to also find their way up the comedy ladder. After finding a lack of a dedicated comedy festival and wanting to encourage a heritage of comedy in the North West, Janet was eager to create something new. Collaborating with comedy and film professionals in the North West, the Cofilmic Comedy Film Festival was born.

She hopes that this will kick start a new Comedy Era in the North West, and so far its popularity – tying in with the recent Manchester Comedy Festival – is giving it a good head start. Janet recently proclaimed: ‘we’ve been amazed by the number of entries in our first year. It is shaping up to be fantastic event, with a fantastic range of films full of talent and originality. The quality of the films has been incredible and includes work from some well known names.’
