Factory Records exhibition in support of Forever Manchester

Saturday 5th to Monday 7th May 2012

Manchester has a rich popular music history and this month marks an important date for the city. May 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of the opening of the iconic FAC 51 ‘Haçienda’, and Factory Music fan Colin Gibbins is looking to mark the occasion by launching an exhibition showcasing his complete collection of Factory discography. Entry is fee, and donations will go to local charity ‘Forever Manchester’ which looks to raise and distribute money in support of local people and groups across Greater Manchester.

The event will run from 11am-6pm on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th, and from 11am-3pm on Monday 7th. Gibbins has been building his collection for the last 30 years and for the first time ever Factory’s complete collection will be showcased in their original form, including rarities, promos and test pressings. Supporting Gibbins and Forever Manchester in this venture is Trevor Johnson, an original Factory designer who has produced limited edition merchandise to raise additional funds for the charity.

The event, sponsored by Creative Lynx and Northern Group, will take place at The Ice Plant, Blossom Street, Manchester, M4 6AJ. Visit www.factvm.com and www.forevermanchester.com for more information.
