Foosball at The Black Dog Ballroom
The Black Dog Ballroom's foosball table was touched with greatness earlier this March, with a visit from the UK's #1 player Rob Atha.
Those who considered themselves a dab-hand at foosball were swept under the table by the bamboozling tricks of this true master. Rob is currently ranked #3 in the world and at the young age of 24, has much time on his side. In 2009, along with fellow pro Joe Hamilton, he became the ITSF Doubles World Champion and has since achieved media fame with appearances on BBC's Newsround and Blue Peter.
The group of table football enthusiasts who attended the visit were given a few pointers to improve their game, such as keeping your players spread apart, trying not to roll or spin your rods. In the end though, the class of the professional shone through. The instant control, slick manoeuvres and deadly shots turned each of his plastic footballers into a team of miniature Maradonas. Even the black dog himself Bruce looked on in awe!
