Manchester Music Tours

All Year 2012!

This year, Manchester Music Tours presents a range of exclusive trips, which allows desiring music fans to get involved and learn about the fantastic history which surrounds the Manchester music scene. Hosted by Craig Gill of the 1980's alternative band, Inspiral Carpets, Craig gives a first hand account of exactly what it was like to be around during Manchester's 'Madchester' period and how he found working with big names, such as Noel Gallagher, Tony Wilson and Shaun Ryder.

The band tours include, The Smith/Morrisey Tour, which sets out from Manchester Town Hall at 10.30am on 7th April and 2nd June, paying a visit to The Salford Lad's Club; The Oasis Tour, which leaves from Manchester's Visitor Information Centre at 10.30am on 9th June, visiting the Johnny Roadhouse Music Record Store; The Joy Division Tour, which takes place on 17th June at 10am, departing from the Visitor Information Centre, taking a trip to Macclesfield's crematorium, where Ian Curtis was cremated; and The Stone Roses Tour, which also sets outs from the Visitor Information Centre, taking place at 10.30am on 29th/30th June and 1st July, visiting Heaton Park. Booking for the band tours is essential as they involve vehicle transportation. However, the Manchester Music Tour is a walking tour around the city and does not require advanced booking. This tour takes place on 21st April and 14th July, setting out from the Town Hall and from there visiting various historical music venues.

Tour prices range from £8 to £25 per person and even private tours can be arranged. Book through emailing Craig at info@manchestermusictours.com. Or if you just want to learn more, visit the website at http://www.manchestermusictours.com/.
