Manchester Christmas Markets

The best way to shop for those more interesting presents.

From Thursday 17th November – Wednesday 21st December, the ultimate Christmas markets will be back in Manchester! Already voted as one of the top ten Christmas markets in the world, you can expect traders from all over Europe bringing a variety of delights in eight separate locations around Manchester town centre.

 

Albert Square will host its usual European Christmas Market outside the Town Hall with our resident Santa Claus keeping a watchful eye over the events. Alongside more food and drink than you could imagine, there will also be a multitude of handmade crafts and gifts as well as a large plant market complete with real Christmas trees for sale. 

Be sure to check out the cider, wine and gluhwein stalls – not only are the drinks delicious, but there will also be limited edition mugs this year with a special designer look!

As you wander through the centre you can expect to find market stalls selling a range of gifts that will not be found elsewhere. To name a few, the markets will be selling unique handmade gifts as well as arts and craft stalls, decorations, jewellery and accessories, toys, ceramics, glassware and even clocks. On top of these, it may be best to go on an empty stomach to make the most of all of the food and drink stalls, including the best European cheeses, hog roast, pancakes and British ale.

 

This year is also lucky enough to welcome over twenty new wooden houses as part of the market, and a new location of weekend craft and gift stalls in King Street. With so much to explore, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to head down and experience Manchester Christmas Markets at their best.
