Nando's Chips Crowned King of the Carbs

As part of National Chip Week, The Printworks set a competition for local residents to find their chip of the crop.

Hundreds of residents voted online via the Printworks website after some of the best chefs in the Printworks kicked off the event with the help of five lucky local children.

After a gruelling tastebud test followed by the impressive number of votes, Nando's came up as King of the Chip - maybe it's their special spicy Peri-Peri sauce that helped them to grab the winning title, or maybe it was their texture and taste alone, but either way the public agree this is a worthy winner!

Moby's Fish Bar took a close second place, proving that Mancunians still have a place in their heart for the traditional chippy chip, and Cafe Rouge took a proud third place with their classical french fry style.

With such a variety in the winning three top spots, it's clear that The Printworks offers something for every chip lover! Centre Director Fred Booth was happy with the outcome: '..With restaurants from nearly every corner of the world [in the Printworks] it was nice to see Manchester voting in the traditional chip-shop chips at Moby's second place. It's no surprise for us to see Nando's taking the winning crown...so congratulations to the team for coming first.'
