The Printworks Celebrates National Chip Week
National Chip Week - 20th - 26th February

National Chip Week celebrates the best of this wonderful potato delicacy, making the public aware of just how versatile this favourite food can be. The Printworks joined in with National Chip Week to find the mosty delicious chip in its vicinity, setting up a competition between its local restaurants. Local Manchester children helped some of The Printworks' top chefs to scour the place to find the ultimate golden ambrosia of the chip world. Holly and Abby Boylin from Alkrington, Rock and Fox Sumner and Louie Riley from Prestwich all helped to kick start the event and worked hard, trying a variety of chips to choose which went through.
Amongst some of the chips on the menu were the American fries from Henry J Beans, the spicy 'Peri-Peri' chips from Nandos, the traditional English chip from Moby's Fish Bar and Papa G's speciality chunky chips. With over 17 venues in the Printworks including a variety of resturants, competition for the best chip was high!
Local chip fans were also asked to take part in the voting on the Printworks' website throughout the week, helping to find what the general public really consider to be the best chip in Manchester. Centre Director Fred Booth stated: 'We've got so many varieties of food under one roof...this week we want to know which ones our customers love the most. If that's not enough, we've even got a gym if customers want to burn off the calories after!'
Whilst chips are generally considered an unhealthy food, potatoes are high in potassium, iron and copper - eaten in moderation, they can be beneficial!
Whether you're a fan of chips or not, with plenty of places to eat in The Printworks you're bound to find your perfect place whatever the time of year, so head down to The Printworks this week!
