The Printworx Factor 2012 has a new champion!
Kirsty Rogers from Denton takes home the gold!
Manchester
may be home to the renowned entertainment complex The Printworks, but
now the venue has come to host their own special Manchester edition
of The X Factor, 'The Printworx Factor', which allows the city's
locals the chance to prove themselves in front of the microphone. And
while it may not be as glamourous or share the same high-end prize
fund as the real deal, The Printworx Factor has inspired many to
audition for the competition throughout February.
Now, after a tough and painstaking competition, The Printworx Factor has selected it's winner! 24 year old, Kirsty Rogers from Denton was announced victorious and crowned by The Official X Factor's own Essex duo, 2 Shoes. From 45 contestants, dwindled down to the final 10, Kirsty wowed celebrity judges, 2 Shoes, ex-Coronation Street star, Sasha Parkinson and Manchester Evening News diary editor, Dianne Bourne, with her beautiful yet powerful voice. The 10 finalists were asked to perform two songs each to aid with the judge's decision, but it was Kirsty's own take on Emile Sande's 'Next to Me' and Elton John's 'Your Song' which deciphered her the winner. The lucky Kirsty claimed the prize of £500.
While the judges admit it was a tough decision to make, Kirsty is said to be amazingly talented and very much a deserving winner. This is no doubt this is just a stepping stone in the young woman's career as a singer, as the judge's agree she will go far.
